Additional locations include UPMC Hillman Cancer Centres in Waterford and Cork and an outpatient facility in Carlow. UPMC Sports Medicine Clinics are located in Waterford, Limerick, Tipperary, and a UPMC Institute for Health in Mayo. All offer immediate access to expert care that’s close to home.

UPMC International

A leading healthcare provider based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania — UPMC is a global, academic medical centre wholly committed to innovation, research, and patient-centred care. UPMC works closely with the University of Pittsburgh Schools of Health Sciences, which is among the top 10 schools in the U.S. to receive research funding from the National Institutes of Health.

Worldwide, UPMC has more than 92,000 team members and in the U.S., its network includes more than 40 hospitals and 800 doctors’ offices and outpatient facilities.

Delivering Life-Changing Medicine Every Day

UPMC offers an integrated healthcare system which, for our patients, means that we offer a range of healthcare services including general medicine and surgery, a host of highly-regarded specialists, and a variety of skilled professionals to help patients complete their healthcare journey within one healthcare system.

Additionally, in the U.S., UPMC provides renowned centers of excellence in transplantation, cancer, neurosurgery, psychiatry, rehabilitation, geriatrics, and women’s health. U.S. News and World Report consistently ranks UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside among the nation’s best hospitals in many specialties and ranks UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh on its Honor Roll of Best Children’s Hospitals.

Expanding Our Footprint and Exploring New Frontiers in Medicine

With its headquarters in Pittsburgh, UPMC has an international presence in three countries in addition to Ireland:

  • China
  • Kazakhstan
  • Italy

UPMC also supports patients in countries where highly specialized care may not be readily available. UPMC Global Care connects patients with complex medical diagnoses to experts at UPMC facilities for teleconsultations, second opinions, surgical care, and telemonitoring services. The Global Care team is the single point of contact to help patients and their in-country physicians navigate the UPMC network so we can provide the care they need quickly and conveniently.

The Global Care team also supports travel requirements, translation services, housing, and other travel logistics.

And to support our commitment to innovation and our pledge to push boundaries when it comes to science, healthcare innovation, and patient care, UPMC Enterprises is helping to change America’s healthcare system. As an incubator, UPMC Enterprises uses the resources of UPMC and other partners to solve some of the most complex challenges facing healthcare institutions today. This commercial arm turns ideas into thriving companies that help the health care industry and impact the lives of patients in meaningful, lasting ways.
